WAKE UP!

A post-human performance

The transnational Ensemble Hajusom and the Ensemble Resonanz ask themselves questions about humankind and nature. In the bunker St. Pauli is thought, heard and researched, in musical visions of the future, on islands of posthuman life. Do not be afraid, call the surviving creatures in this dark scenario, because there is a life after you. Little consolation for the last person who asks: what went wrong? What about humanity and love? Why couldn’t they save us? And what happens to us when forces and laws are stronger?

In the dystopian performance Wake Up, the ensembles work together with inspirations from climate research and microbiology, shamanism and science fiction. The sound is accompanied by improvised, flat atmospheric sounds, leitmotifs and quotations from the repertoire of the strings, while Viktor Marek's electro-sounds and beats provide for the abysmalness of the rooms.
